Sri T. Krishnamacharya
The greatest influence on the yoga on modern times, was undoubtedly the legendary yogi of the last century Sri T. Krishnamacharya – a master of yoga, scholar of all Indian philosophies and a healer of repute.
A.G. Mohan
A.G. Mohan was a personal student of Sri T. Krishnamacharya for 18 years.The Svastha organization was started by the Mohans. The word Svastha in Sanskrit refers to the state of complete health and balance.
A.G. Mohan was a personal student of Sri T. Krishnamacharya for 18 years, from 1971 to 1989.
He was also the co-founder of the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (in Chennai, in 1976). He was its Honorary Secretary from its inception till the master’s demise in 1989. He was also the convener of Sri Krishnamacharya’s centenary celebrations.
He is the author of Yoga for Body, Breath and Mind (1993) and the co-author, along with his wife and son, of Yoga Therapy (2004). He has translated the Yoga Yajnavalkya, one of the most important classical texts on yoga.
The details of his study are described by Sri Krishnamacharya himself in his personal foreword to Sri Mohan’s book Yoga for Body, Breath and Mind.
Indra Mohan
Indra Mohan has been practicing and teaching yoga for more than three decades now. She is one of the few people who received a post-graduate diploma in Yoga from Krishnamacharya. Known for her serene demeanor, she is a source of support and wisdom to her many personal students.
