Take a break from your everyday life to deeply experience the essence of yoga at its source. Our yoga journeys take place in India - the birthplace of yoga where we visit world renowned yoga masters, blissful retreat centres and some of the most sublime landscapes on the planet.

We have planned an amazing yoga journey to India for students and anyone interested in exploring South India while at the same time deepening their knowledge and experience of yoga. India is the birthplace of yoga and a journey to India is also a journey within to experience and integrate the essence of yoga. You get to travel with likeminded people in a small group with Mandy from Kookaburra Creek Yoga Centre.

We study with world famous yoga masters A.G. Mohan and Indra Mohan at Svastha Yoga Centre (Pallava Beach, south of Chennai) who will personalise a program of yoga specifically for the individuals in our group whatever their level of experience may be. This is an incredible opportunity to learn directly from teachers who were co-founders of the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram and close students of T.Krishnamacharya for 30 years. Krishnamacharya is one of the most influential proponents of yoga in modern times. Their comfortable new retreat centre is set near the ancient shore temples of the seaside village of Mahabalipuram and there is plenty of time to explore, shop and see the sights.

After 6 days of yoga with the Mohans we journey further south to the tranquil Rmana Maharshi Ashram at the foot of the sacred Arunachala Mountain to experience the simplicity of ashram life and spend time meditating and walking in nature and visiting ancient temples.

After a peaceful stay here we cross the subcontinent by train (or plane if you prefer!) We then board our luxury houseboat in Kerala for a serene 2 nights drifting through the backwaters, lakes, and a bird sanctuary with classical musicians to entertain us onboard in the evenings and gourmet Kerala cuisine to delight the senses. Our time on the backwaters includes a canoe tour of the small canals through tiny villages and rice fields.

Our final 5 nights are spent in a seaside Ayurvedic Health Resort on the Andaman Sea where we undertake a yoga retreat and customised Ayurvedic rejuvenation or cleansing program of massages, oil therapies, special diet and more - in the most peaceful grounds imaginable. If you wish to, you can join vegetarian cooking classes, Kerala martial arts, healing pranayama classes or simply lie in a hammock by the pool overlooking the ocean.

The cost of this journey is $4,400 and includes everything within India: transport, accommodation, food, sightseeing, yoga programs, guides, cultural programs, ayurvedic program, 2 therapies (massages a day) at the retreat centre and more. All you need to pay is your international airfare, visa, insurance, any extra spending money...and leave the rest to us!

To secure a place on the Yoga Journey you will need to complete the Registration Form and pay a $500 deposit. Once we receive your registration we will send you a yoga journey travel pack to help you prepare for the trip which includes three books by A.G. Mohan and Indra Mohan and a Manduka Travel Yoga Mat. If you register before the 30th June you receive a $200 earlybird discount (4,200)!
